The truckstop has a budget of €100,000, with €50,000 being funded by The European Commission. This money is being spent on improving and refurbishing the site.

The Truckstop Restaurant has recently received a major accolade from Ashford Borough Councils Department of Environmental Health by being awarded 5 Stars for hygiene and food Safety standards under the Scores on the Doors initiative.

Extensive refurbishment of the shower and toilet facilities is planned for the beginning of 2009. The male toilets are to be re-tiled and panelled with the existing sinks and urinal also being replaced. The main focus of the work however, will be in the men’s showers. The existing cubicles are to be replaced, the new ones being larger and offering split wet / dry areas.

A Carvery service was also launched in December 2008 providing visiting customers with freshly roasted meats & vegetables as well as homemade Yorkshire Puddings and all the trimmings associated with the Great British Roast Dinner and has proved to be a popular addition to the menu.

The Truckstop is open 24hours a day, 7 days a week. Parking costs vary depending on the amount of time spent at the site. Daytime parking costs £2 for 2 hours. Overnight tickets cost £23.50 and include a £6 voucher which is redeemable in the café and shop.

The truckstop website, www.ashfordtruckstop.co.uk is updated on a regular basis with news and events information. Additionally there is a ‘Live Availability’ feature which is updated hourly, stating how many available parking spaces there are at any one time.
